John Zuelzer & Son Canada Ltd. are Chuck Hilhorst and Rick Lusk.
John Zuelzer & Son Canada Ltd. focuses on trading, marketing and producing the forage and turf seed products that are produced or consumed in the cool season areas around the world.
 
Although our focus is on cool season products, we have access to all world markets and virtually all seed products through the Zuelzer Group. 

Chuck Hilhorst (Invermere, British Columbia) 
 
1986 - Established John Zuelzer & Son Canada Ltd. in Carberry, Manitoba.

Actively involved in the seed industry since 1975, including a period as Seed Department Manager, Manitoba Pool.  Past president of both the Northern Seed Association and the Canadian Seed Trade Association, International Division. Acted as Director of the CSTA for 10 years.

1974 graduate University of Manitoba BA Economics.
 
Rick Lusk (Sherwood Park, Alberta)

2005 - Currently CSTA International Committee Chairman.

2000 - Elected president of the Canadian Seed Trade Association.

1996 - 2001: Canadian representative on the International Seed Trade Federation (FIS) Herbage Seed Section Board.

Joined John Zuelzer & Son Canada Ltd. in 1998.

Since 1988 has held positions in the seed industry including research, marketing and Forage Seed Trader for United Grain Growers Ltd. Served as director of the CSTA, the CSTA Seed Multiplication Division and  International Division and the Field Seed Institute of America.

1987 graduate University of Guelph B.Sc. (Agriculture).

The Zuelzer Group consists of four autonomous companies (John Zuelzer & Son Canada Ltd., Zuelzer USA Seeds LLC, Zuelzer (Australasia) Ltd., and Zuelzer Grain & Seed Pty Ltd.). We have five seed experts on staff in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Through our contacts and involvement, including our co-brokerage agreements, we have access to many seed specialists around the world including North America, Europe, South America, and Asia.

The Zuelzer Group are representatives and brokers of grain, pulses, and seed with a primary focus in the Forage, Turf, Wildflower and Native and Reclamation seed industries. In 2001 Zuelzer Grain & Seed Pty Ltd was formed to expand the Zuelzer Group's interest in the domestic Australian and international grain, pulse, and seed trading. This expansion has provided the Zuelzer Group's worldwide customers with improved access to the growing production base and markets in Australia.

The Zuelzer Group is committed to assisting its clients, and meeting their changing needs as it has done for over 50 years. We represent more than 300 companies in variety marketing agreements, variety acquisitions, variety multiplication agreements, long-term purchase/sales agreements, and coordinates the licensing of varieties in many markets and countries around the world.

We are a dedicated team of experienced seed professionals. Through our day-to-day operations we have extremely close contact with seed companies (both large and small) and the seed industry around the world.
